Veg-o-matic

First, [info]veggie_king posts a rant (complete with horrid spelling and grammar) about these "vegetarians" that dont bother reading lables. instead they just ask ignorant questions. At the end, he asks that people forgive spelling please, i type to fast and dont proof read

He further raises the ire of the community by deleting comments.

Then [info]rebirthoxide reposts the original post with the question, Has a fellow vegetarian ever talked to you like this? What did you think? Should fellow vegetarians chastise each other in this manner? Is proofreading a privilege or a right?

Hijinx ensue in the comments.

I installed it yesterday. It seems okay - nothing grand. The lack of a "home" button is throwing me. What do you guys think (preferably people who've actually installed and used it)

The Tiger Lillies in NYC

  • Sep. 5th, 2008 at 4:47 PM
I've been a fan since both [info]mostlybent  and  [info]dantehoh introduced me to them last year.
Since then, I have performed 2 numbers with [info]weburlesque  to both "Crack of Doom" and "Beat Me" with more new ideas comming round for future events.
This band sort of reminded me what P.T Grimm would have been like before WWII.
And almost everything they do with another person in mind just amazes me that much more.
They've worked with Alexander Hacke of Einsturzende Neubauten in their musical rendition of H.P Lovecraft's stories.
(Amanda, don't listen to this song.)

So if you are interested, they are playing Sunday Nov. 9th and Monday Nov. 10th at the Highline Ballroom in NYC

Heading out in about fifteen minutes for NYC. Tomorrow is Mets game (if Hannah doesn't ruin everything), and Sunday is In The Heights. We may have some open slots in our plans - feel free to ping me via email, text, or phone if you're interested.

Email and text are preferred points of contact.

See you on the flip! (And don't forget about tomorrow!)

My life lesson

  • Sep. 5th, 2008 at 3:22 PM
Honesty and communication. Huge buttons around honesty and communication. Every single other rule I have can be traced back to those two things. Have to have both, one just isn't good enough.

artcile regarding the closing of Astroland )
I'm going to get my sister on Sunday at Pace to bring her there. It's sad that her first time there, may very well be the only time she can go and see it as it is now. Planning on being there pretty much all day and as late as possible. It's all just really depressing

In case you missed it...

I am so proud of my husband. I always say that he is the one out there changing the world while I stay home to make chicken soup, I think the world needs both of us but I have to say he is pretty special.

Biology Humor

  • Sep. 5th, 2008 at 10:00 AM
I was so punchy yesterday morning, just before the third Intro Biology instruction session in as many days, that I started cracking biology jokes to the course instructor (who, fortunately, knows me well and was amused):

-- Globin Brothers: Moving and Storage

-- Watson: Hey, Crick, how do you tell the sex of a chromosome?
Crick: I don't know, Watson. How?
Watson: You pull down its genes!

-- Protozoan stand-up comedy: "Take my amoeba -- please!"

Morningness

My little girl has been extra snuggly lately. I thought to put on a fleece over my "work" clothes so I didn't get covered by hair. It occurs to me that she getting older. She still runs about like crazy but most of the time she sleeps curled up on the sofa. I love her. She takes good care of me.

Sleep last night was elusive. Excitement over upcoming plans had my mind whirring. Glad my work shift got canceled this evening. Something tells me I'm going to be tired.

Cool 58 degrees in the house when I woke up. I've been really enjoying to cool weather. Mostly sunny and nice. Even decided on wearing the sassy pants today. They're cords. That's warm right?

And I discovered that my piercing is getting on towards healed too. I was able to lay on my right side and gently rest my head down on my pillow for a little while. Haven't been able to do that since June!

Other than that, the Honey comes home around 5:30 today. I have a conversation to have with someone else. And generally, life is good.

Today is just a downhill of suck and its only 9am.

Last night I came home around 1am, looked around and thought "Hey... where is my car?". I called the police. It was towed because my registration expired. This town apparently means business.

Looking forward to the continuing downward spiral.

Not that I can vote but...

Your Issue Profile: 88% Obama, 12% McCain

When it comes to the issues, you agree with Obama on almost everything.

Surprised? Probably not. You've had your eye on Obama for a while.

In fact, you're likely already a strong Obama supporter.

You know where your vote is going this November.
